Yesterday I installed my large-scale print work, “Boston Public Library 4-Color ASCII”. Here are some images showing the installed work from the entrance of the Johnson Lobby, a side shot showing the Children’s Room Stacks, and a full-frame shot of the work itself.
Quick preview of the large print I’m doing for the Mixit Print Studio’s 25th Anniversary show, ReThink Ink, at the Boston Public Library. Today I went into the print studio and editioned an old plate that hadn’t been properly printed before. Here’s an action shot of the plate for Graphic Chesapeake Bay, which will soon be numbered in an edition of 13.
So today I went back to Mixit Studio to do some printmaking, hard-core printmaking that Rembrandt or Dürer would recognize. Yes, after a couple years of vacillating, I went back to do some intaglio prints. Intaglio (or etching) prints involve wiping a plate with ink, which embeds the ink into crevices on the surface, and
